The company was formed in Timaru out of a need – not so long ago, if you lived in rural NZ having no access (or slow!) to internet was just a fact of life and it was going to stay that way as everyone put finding a solution into the too hard basket, that is, until the Farmside founders did what many Kiwi pioneers before them have done – they found their own fix. Farmside backed Kiwis when no one else would and in 2002, introduced satellite broadband and changed the lives of thousands of people who lived in rural NZ.
Fast forward to 17 years later, still Timaru-based and with a staff of 43, Farmside is steadfastly committed to our purpose – connecting rural NZ for a better future. They look after approximately 13,900 customers, 69% of which have RD addresses, offering a strong range of rural connectivity solutions which means there’s a solution for every location and situation.
Farmside offers satellite, wireless, ADSL, VDSL and Fibre. They also offer a selection of phone line services including landline, wireless, VoIP and mobile plans.
