Mark joined the Farmlands Board in 2023 as an Independent Director and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee. Mark’s other current governance roles include Independent Director of Fingermark, J. Ballantyne and Co. and Primary Collaboration New Zealand which represents the shareholders in a New Zealand collaboration business based in Shanghai. Mark has also held Director roles at Orcon and was Chair of Super Liquor Holdings.
Mark has extensive executive experience gained during his corporate career, and has held senior positions with Lion Nathan, Spark and Fonterra in Sales and Commercial roles, and was CEO at House of Travel Holdings for nine years. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Studies and he is a member of the Institute of Directors. After four years at Rockit Apples Mark announced his retirement from executive roles and from 2025 will be focused on his governance career.
Mark and his wife own a small four-hectare property in Te Awanga in Hawke’s Bay. He grew up in the Manawatu on his parent’s dairy and then beef farms and has a strong affinity with the primary sector and the transformational challenges it faces.
