James has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 2021. He has extensive Farmlands/Te Whenua Tāroa leadership experience, having joined the co-operative in 2014 and held several senior finance roles during this time. James is accountable for the overall financial management and other key operational support functions such legal, risk management and procurement. In early 2023 James joined the Board of Fern Energy as a Farmlands representative Director. Fern is our 50/50 JV with South Fuels. James is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has previous CFO and senior finance experience gained in the United Kingdom – with businesses ranging from publicly listed companies to innovative start-ups.

James is also a Farmlands lifestyle customer and spends much of his spare time enjoying his property with his whānau.
