Koru and Pink Lady Success
Our journey began with the Koru variety, achieving yields of over 70,000 kilos per hectare through meticulous planning and innovative techniques. We then focused on Pink Lady (Lady In Red) apples, surpassing expectations with yields over 90,000 kilos per hectare. These results demonstrated Tapawera's potential for high-quality apple production.
Dave McGaveston Honeycrisp Triumph
One of our most significant accomplishments is Dave’s success with the Honeycrisp variety. Known for its high market value and specialized growing requirements, Honeycrisp thrives in Tapawera's unique climate. Dave relied on my expertise and support, but our teamwork made this achievement possible. His expertise and our collaborative efforts made him the only grower in the top of the South Island authorized to cultivate this premium apple, setting a new standard for the region.
Our work in Tapawera proves that with vision, hard work, and the right approach, anything is possible. From Koru to Pink Lady and the exclusive Honeycrisp, our journey showcases the untapped potential of this unique region. Our partnership and combined efforts have turned what many thought impossible into a thriving reality.
